Every instructor who annotates slides knows the frustration of clicking through PowerPoints pen input settings to change pen color, swap to the "Laser" etc....
There are workarounds like using Macro's embedded in the deck to switch pen colors. But travelling between computers requires constantly accepting and enabling macros, and changing security settings. It works until the moment a lecture recording starts and PowerPoint throws a security warning about macro-enabled files. InkWell was built to end that routine.
InkWell is a small floating toolbar that sits on top of PowerPoint to aid in on-screen annotations; giving you one-tap control of pen color, eraser, pointer, laser, and undo without ever pulling focus from the your presentation by fumbling through menus. Tap a color to draw in it, hold for two seconds to pick a new one, and press Left Ctrl + Right Ctrl to bring the toolbar back if it ever gets hidden or lost. Your decks stay saved as ordinary .pptx files, no macros required.
It will soon be available on the Microsoft app store - OR - can be downloaded here as a portable app (*.exe)...No installer, no admin rights, no separate runtime...It finds the monitor running the show, adapts to Presenter View or a duplicated display, and keeps running quietly while PowerPoint opens, closes, and restarts around it.
